Hoffmann, Roberta J.

Roberta J. Hoffmann, 74, Clintonville, Wis., died June 19, 2006, at her daughter's home in Shawano County, Wis. She was born Feb. 24, 1932, in Persia, Iowa, the daughter of Edgar and Elizabeth Ditzler Thordsen.

Mrs. Hoffmann and her husband ministered in many communities over a 45-year period, including Zion Lutheran in Flagler, Colo., Immanuel and Trinity Lutheran Churches in Holton, St. John's Lutheran Church in Elmore, Minn., Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morristown, Minn., and Luther Memorial Church in Gleason, Wis.

The couple retired in 1987 but continued their ministry in an interim manner at various churches. She was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville in 2004. She also was active in churches she and her husband served and was also involved with different 4-H clubs. She married the Rev. Franklin L.W. Hoffmann Jr. on June 30, 1957, in Tigerton, Wis. He died Jan. 5, 2002. She also was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Geri Olson.

Survivors include a daughter, Laura Trautmann and husband Lyle; four sons, Mark Hoffmann and wife Linda, Franklin Hoffmann and wife Tina, Luther Hoffmann and wife Beverly, and David Hoffmann and wife Rene; two brothers, Norman Thordsen and wife Jo Ann, and Allen Thordsen and wife Linda; and 18 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. June 22 at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville, Wis., with the Rev. David Last officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. June 22 at Mountain Cemetery, Mountain, Wis., with the Rev. Paul Scheunemann officiating.

Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until service time on June 22. A memorial fund has been established. Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home, Clintonville, is in charge of arrangements.
