Mildred M. Miller

Mildred M. Miller, 86, passed away November 11, 2004, in Hidden Lake Care Center, Raytown, Mo.

She was born June 18, 1918, to Gustav and Marie (Niemeyer) Behrens at Gleason, Wis. She married Pastor Channing E. Miller of St. Louis on June 11, 1944. They served a series of Lutheran parishes in Gordonville, Cuba, Augusta, Monett, and Stover, Mo., as well as in Kansas, Illinois, and Minnesota, and retired to Blue Springs. Over the years, she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, sang in the choir, involved herself in sewing and quilting circles and was active in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.

The couple had five children: John Miller of Brookings, S.D.; Lois Domsch of Independence, Mo.; Mary Meier of Heng Chun, Taiwan; Daniel Miller of Naperville, Ill.; and Timothy Miller of Knox, Ind. She is survived by one sister and one brother, five children, fifteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Timothy Lutheran Church in Blue Springs, Sunday, Nov. 14 from 3 to 5 p.m. and services will be held there at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 15; burial in Valley Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley, Mo. Contributions can be made to the Timothy Lutheran Building Fund.
