Hildegarde Montgomery Anderson

Hildegarde Montgomery Anderson, 100, Brownstown, died at 10:25 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of Brownstown Presbyterian Church. She was a medical assistant, Shields High School study hall supervisor and a homemaker. She was a member of Delta Theta Tau and American Legion Auxiliary.

Born Aug. 18, 1907, in Gleason, Wis., she was a daughter of the Rev. John Theodore Destinon and Martha Hillman, both of whom preceded her in death. On Jan. 14, 1934, she married Coulter M. Montgomery. He preceded in death on Sept. 10, 1956. She married Ralph M. Anderson in 1971, and he preceded her in death on April 1, 1983.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Malcolm Montgomery, Lake Oswego, Ore., and John Coulter Montgomery, Troy Mich.; a daughter, Jane Swope Montgomery, Brownstown; a step-son, James H. Anderson, Louisville; five step-daughters, Donna Mae (Jack) Heiman, Seymour, Dorothy June Crouch, Greenwood, Emma Lou (Bud) Riffle, Florida, Clarabelle (Dean) Claycamp, Columbus, and Carol (Sue) Elmer Nichalson, Seymour; six grandchildren, Ruth Montgomery, Rachel West, Sarah Kingham, Brian Montgomery, Allen Montgomery and Lisa Kennedy Lee; 11 great-grandchildren, Sawyer Montgomery West, Madeline West, Camille West, Rebecca Kingham, Mark Kingham, Quentin Montgomery, Isabella Montgomery, Lukas Montgomery, Pele Lee, Audrey Montgomery and Julia Montgomery.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and a step-son.

Pastor Brad Napier will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brownstown Presbyterian Church, Brownstown. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Spurgeon Funeral Home Inc., Brownstown, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church.
