Fidelis Ament

Fidelis G. Ament, 85, Merrill, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at his residence.

Del had been employed at Weinbrenner Shoe Co. and the city of Merrill Street Department for 12 years. He later bought the Avenue Bar, which he and his wife operated for 20 years. He then worked at the Lincoln County Bank for eight years. Del served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Helen (Zastrow) Ament, Merrill; one son, Rickey (Barb) Ament, Merrill; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. Burial will be in Merrill Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, and from 9 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church.
