Elmer Kanitz

Elmer G. Kanitz, 90, 215 Grand Ave., Merrill, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was employed at Semco in Merrill. Survivors include two daughters, Gwen (Michael) Schmidt and Rhonda (Timothy) Kanitz-Henrichs, all of Merrill; three sons, Gordon Kanitz, Victor (Therese) Kanitz and Virgil (Laurie) Kanitz, all of Merrill; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Leslie (Dorothy) Kanitz and Lylas Kanitz, all of Merrill.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Burial will be in Merrill Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, and also at 10 a.m. Monday, all at the funeral home.
