Glenn H. Oslage

Glenn H. Oslage, 69, Merrill, formerly of Rothschild, met his Saviour, and entered into eternal peace Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, surrounded by his family while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

He was born Dec. 10, 1936, in Wausau, son of the late Henry and Esther (Borchardt) Oslage. In 1962, he married Lora Jean Wood at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Rothschild. She survives.

Survivors include his wife, Lora Jean Oslage; daughter, Glenda Oslage; son, Chad Oslage and his wife, Lynn, grandsons, Dustin and Nicholas Oslage, all of Merrill. He is also survived by a brother, Gary (Carol) Oslage; an uncle, Raymond Juedes; special extended family members including, Lana (Florian) Bradfish, John (Jan) Juedes, Mary (Dennis) Berndt, Donald (Grace) Wood, Richard (Georgia) Wood, and many friends, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Robert Lang; an aunt, Isabelle Juedes.

Glenn had a courageously battled three different types of cancer since 1973. He was a brave example of faith and determination. He showed great support for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in the Merrill area, speaking at an opening ceremony a few years back, where he shared his inspiring stories and proved survivorship. His upbeat attitude and friendly smile will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Merrill. Visitation will be at the church from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Full military honors will be provided by the VFW Post No. 1638 Honor Guard.

Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family.
