Robert Crawley

Robert C. Crawley, 82, of Beloit, Wis., formerly of Moline and East Moline, died Saturday, July 22, 2006, at Beloit Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Services were held Tuesday, July 25, at Floral Lawn Cemetery in South Beloit, Ill., with the Rev. Karen Stubblefield of Congregational Church officiating. Arrangements were handled by Hansen Funeral Home, 424 Prospect St., Beloit. A memorial fund was established in his name. A memorial gathering of local friends will be held Sunday, Sept., 17, at 1 p.m. at The Keg Tavern, 924 15th Ave., East Moline, to share the many fond memories and pictures of Bob.

He was born Sept. 17, 1923, in Merrill, Wis., son of Hugh Charles and Leona Anna Rockney Crawley. He served in the United States Navy for 20 years and retired to the Moline area. He then was employed as a postal worker with the United States Post Office in Moline for 22 years.

His survivors include his mother, Leona Anna Crawley, age 97, Beloit; sister, Doris (husband, William) Reinhert, Beloit; sister-in-law, Ann Crawley, Clinton, Wis.; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends, including a special friend, Bev Hansen.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh; a sister, Donna Leann Olson; and a brother, Lyle Crawley, on May 31, 2006.
