Margaret M. King, 85, 714 Birch St., Rothschild, died Friday, March 5, 1999, at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.

She was born May 16, 1913, in Merrill, daughter of the late William and Clara (Ament) Cotter. She married Conrad J. King Feb. 28, 1948, in Wisconsin Rapids. He survives. Margaret was employed as an X-ray technician at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison. She moved to this area in 1945 and worked at the former Stahmer Clinic. After their marriage, the couple moved to the family farm in Edgar, where they farmed until 1969 and then moved to the Rothschild area.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Conrad J. King, Rothschild; three daughters, Liza (Duane) Doering, Wausau, Nancy (Bill) Bussey, Bayfield, and Peggy (Robert) Margolies, Madison; one brother, Patrick Cotter, Milwaukee; six grandchildren, Kelly and DuAne Doering Jr., Mark and Carrie Bussey, and Justin and Rachel Margolies; and one great-granddaughter, Claire Doering. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Megan Doering; and a sister, Barbara Holmes.

Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 8, 1999, at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. The Rev. Al Slowiak will officiate. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Chapel, Wausau. Hayden Funeral Home, Schofield is assisting the family with arrangements.
