Robert Richard McMillan, 65, of 506 Missouri Ave., Stover, Mo., died Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Versailles, Mo.

Born March 12, 1939, in Mount Vernon, Ill., Robert was the son of Robert Howard and Virginia Lyle McMillan.

Robert graduated from Merrill High School, Class of 1957. He was active in athletics, lettering in both basketball and football. Following high school, he attended White Water College for two years. He was in the silver recycling business for most of his adult life, living in Wausau; Berwick, Pa.; Panama City, Fla.; and Versailles, Mo.

Survivors include his wife Cher of Stover, Mo.; first wife Helen (Kritz) Toschner and their children Robert Glenn McMillan and Tammy (Joe) Burnett and grandchildren Jenny and Callie Burnett, all of Merrill. Also surviving are his mother Virginia McMillan, Clintonville; brother Charles, Modoc, S. C.; and sister Pam Eggebrecht, Two Rivers. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Howard McMillan.

He was cremated in Versailles, Mo. A memorial service for family and friends was held at the United Methodist Church of Clintonville on Saturday, January 5, 2005. Rev. Roberta Thomson officiated.

The family requests that memorial be sent to the American Heart Association, 208 S. LaSalle St., Chicago, Ill 60604.
