Theodore A. “Ted” Leder, 87, of Gleason, died Tuesday, January 11, 2005, at Pine Crest Nursing home, Merrill, under Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Born in New England, N. D., on April 10, 1917, Ted was the son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Christman Leder. He married Irene Myszka on November 23, 1939, in Merrill. She survivors.

Ted worked at a carpenter his entire life. He enjoyed gardening, reading Westerns, playing his harmonica, and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife Irene, Gleason; daughters Dolores (John) O’Donnell, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Peggy (Jerry) Monti, Gleason; Josie (Mark) Ollhoff, Wausau; and Kris (Perry) Block and Jane (Richard) Helm, both of Merrill; sons Ron (Gloria), Gleason; Mike, Columbus, Ted “Louie” Jr. (Nancy), Gleason; Matt (Kim), Merrill; and Tim (Carol), Albany, Ore.; 29 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sister Frieda (Edison) Blanchard, Ooltewah, Tenn.; and brother Herb (Mary), Gleason. He was preceded in death by sister Eva Leder and brothers George and Alfred.

Funeral services were Friday, January 14, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Bloomville. Rev. Edward Powell officiated. Burial was in St. John Baptist Catholic Cemetery, town of Schley. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, was in charge of arrangements.
