Erna E. Radtke, 97, of 2100 E. Sixth St., Merrill, died Sunday, January 16, 2005, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.

Erna was born April 11, 1907, in the town of Berlin, Marathon County, daughter of the late Herman and Sophie Stecker Kufahl. She married Walter Radtke on June 2, 1932, in the town of Berlin. He preceded her in death on August 18, 1975.

Erna was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, town of Maine, where she was involved in the Ladies Aid and the Flower Committee. Her hobby was cleaning.

Survivors include her son David (Bonnie), Merrill; grandchildren Donald (Jilayne) Radtke, Merrill; Donna (Benny) Polley, Waunakee; and Daryl Radtke, Merrill; great-grandchildren Barbara, Gena and Matthew Radtke, all of Merrill; Kirsten and Alyssa Polley, both of Waunakee. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Ruth Kufahl and Eleanore Tetzloff, both of Wausau; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law George and Loretta Peeters, Merrill. She was preceded in death by sisters Lydia Luedle, Irene Teske, Norma Voigt, and Viola Kufahl; and brothers Edward, Arnold, Hubert, Ervin, Ewald, Alfred, Elmer and Herman.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, January 23, at Faith Lutheran Church, Town of Maine. Rev. Kevin Hoogland will officiate. Burial will take place in Maple Grave Cemetery, town of Maine. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.
