----Madden, James (23 Sept. 1930 – 20 Jan. 2005)

James Madden, 74, of Gleason, died Thursday, January 20, 2005, at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.

Born September 23, 1930, in the town of Hewitt, James was the son of the late Melvin and Lena Neitzke Madden.

Jim had worked as a logger for many years for Jim Engel. He had also worked at Fromm Brothers and Schultz’s recking. Jim loved the great outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, berry picking, and watching and feeding the birds, deer and other animals. He also enjoyed going out to eat, being with his friend and neighbor Eugene, and spending quality time with his family.

Surviving are his daughter Betty (Gary) Pfuhl, Merrill; sons David and Gary, both of Merrill; granddaughters Karen and Katie Pfuhl, and Emily Madden; sister Elizabeth (John) Sahr, Wausau; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son Dale and sister Florence DeJong.

Funeral services were Sunday, January 23, at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Melvin Hassel officiated. Burial was in the Chat Cemetery, town of Birch.
