Estelle M. Hass, 91, formerly of 1707 W. Main St., Merrill, died Tuesday, January 18, 2005, at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.

Estelle was born January 6, 1914, in the Parrish area of Lincoln County, daughter of the late Earl and Georgiana Finley Shearier. She married William F. Hass, on December 4, 1937. He preceded her in death in 1967.

Estelle and her late husband owned and operated the former “Bill’s Bar” in the Sixth Ward. She then was a sales clerk at the former “Estelle’s Dress Shop” of Merrill. Estelle was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church in Merrill. She enjoyed reading, the outdoors and spending time with her great-grandson Andrew.

Survivors include her son William J. “Bill” (Judy) Hass, Tomahawk; grandchildren Steve (Lisa) Hass, Merrill; and William J. Hass Jr., Wausau; and great-grandson Andrew Hass. She was preceded in death by sisters Wilma Stack and Harriet Bronsteatter; and brother James Shearier.

Funeral services were Friday, January 21, at the Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Joseph Kleinheinz officiated. Burial was in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
