Richard “Rick” Lee Springer, 48, of Merrill, died Wednesday, January 26, 2005, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Born in Wausau on December 15, 1956, Rick was the son of Lorraine M. Michlig Springer and the late Edward H. Springer. He married Jeanette Jackson on August 22, 1987, in Merrill. She survives.

Rick was a dairy farmer and an artificially inseminator (Al technician) in the town of Pine River. He was a 1975 graduate of Edgar High School. Rick attended Al Tech School in La Crosse in 1989. He will be remembered for his generosity, good will, hard work and good sense of humor. Rick enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting pool and farming.

Survivors include his wife Jeanette, Merrill; daughter Cassandra Springer, Merrill; son Jason, Pickerel; grandson Dre’ Austin Michael Springer, Pickerel; and mother Lorraine Springer, Edgar. Also surviving are sister Linda (David) Wagener, Edgar; brother Randy (Melissa), Wausau; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son Michael, brother Kenneth and his father.

Funeral services were Saturday, January 20, at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Joseph Kleinheinz officiated. Burial was graveside services followed at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Edgar.
