James L. Rowekamp, 54, of 204 Stuyvesant St., Merrill; died Friday, January 28, 2005, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

James was born June 16, 1950, in Winona, Minn., son of Leo and Mary Schell Rowekamp of Lewiston, Minn.

James was a shipping clerk at Thomas Industrial Supplies, Schofield. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Merrill. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, being outdoors and with his family. He moved to the Merrill area around six years ago.

Survivors besides his parents include his fiancé Lesley Goetsch and her children Samantha, Amelia and Tyler; daughters Shannon (Roger) Kampf; Romeoville, Ill.; and her son Gage; and Kari (Mark) Moldrem, Cadott; and her daughter Morgan; and sons Todd (Shanna), Eagan, Minn.; and his son Kaden; Brian, Chippewa Falls, and his daughter Maia; Chad (Michelle), Chippewa Falls; and Troy and Tyler, both of Sheldon. Also surviving are sisters Helen (Michael) Thompson, Stillwater, Minn.; Rose (Patrick) Loughrin, Appleton; Betty Jean (Jon) Hall; Parker, Colo.; Dorothy Jane (Grant) Currier, Huntsville, Texas; Donna (John) Wegmann, Cannon Falls, Minn.; Teresa Lynn (Don) Chirpich, Wells, Minn.; Pauline (Marty) Webster, Acworth, Ga.; Joan (Brian) Fritz, Cedar, Minn.; and Katie (James) Ankrum, Apple Valley, Minn.; brothers John (Debra), St. Charles, Minn.; and Joe (Kelly), Eyota, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sister Mary Lee Briese.

A funeral mass was celebrated Tuesday, February 1, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Merrill. Rev. James Horath officiated. Burial was in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Merrill. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, served the family.
