Donald J. Wold, 77, of 1901 E. Sixth St., Merrill, died Saturday, February 5, 2005, at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.

Don was born September 9, 1927, in Merrill, son of the late Elmer and Tillie Johnson Wold. He married Lois Krause on November 22, 1947, in St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, Merrill. She survives.

Don retired as a supervisor from the former Ward Paper Company of Merrill, where he worked for 43 years. He was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ. Don was a veteran of the U. S. Navy during World War II, and was stationed in Hawaii. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with his family.

Survivors besides his wife Lois include daughters Sandra (Michael) Prain, Gleason; and Donna (John) Frisch and Sarah (Matt Semling) Wold, both of Merrill; grandchildren Christopher (Mary) Frisch, Rebecca (Peter) Wegner, Stephanie (Tony) Ludke and Erika Frisch; and great-grandchildren Caitlin, Breanna, Kaleb and Cotton. Also surviving are sister Jean (Martin) Hall and brother-in-law John Odegard, both of Merrill. He was preceded in death by sister Marjorie Odegard and Shirley Wold.

Funeral services were Tuesday, February 8, at St. Stephen’s Untied Church of Christ, Merrill. Rev. Earl Eckhart officiated. Entombment was in Merrill Memorial Park Mausoleum. The Taylor and Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, was in charge of arrangements.
