---Boyd, Lloyd J. (4 Sept. 1935 – 2 Feb. 2005)

Lloyd J. Boyd, 69, of Merrill, died Wednesday, February 2, 2005, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital Under Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Born September 4, 1935, in Baraboo, Lloyd was the son of the late Alex and Mildred Spears Boyd. He married Marilyn Coyer in Gleason on February 19, 1955. She survives.

Lloyd worked for the Lincoln County Highway Department for over 30 years. He had belonged to a skydiving club and the Merrill Airport Pilots. Lloyd enjoyed fishing, following the Packers, spending time with Tiny Hodsveldt and being with his grandchildren. He served with the 101st Airborne Division of the U. S. Army from 1956 until 1958.

Survivors include his wife Marilyn; daughters Shirley (David) ‘Damico, Merrill; Dena Boyd, Wausau; Brenda (Gary Seiler) Busterud, Merrill; Teresa (Randy Archiquette) Hass, Fremont; Lisa (Greg) Barrett, Merrill; Tammy (Mike) Ritchie, Wausau; and Sheila (Rick) Grapp, Merrill; sons Michael (Patti) and Scott, both of Merrill; Kenneth (Doris), Waukesha; and Shawn and Todd, both of Merrill; 48 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Bonnie Boyd, Madison; and Rita (Don) Starr, Tomahawk; and brothers Wilbert (Ceil) and Dean, both of Merrill; Gale, Oxford; Dale (Sally), Hot Springs, Ark.; Harold, Poplar Grove, Ill. He was preceded in death by sons Randy and David, grandsons Jimi Busterud and Christopher Grubb, and granddaughters Shana and Rachel Schultz.

Funeral services were Friday, February 4, at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. William Hohman officiated. Full military honors provided by Schmitt-Maecke-Donner VFW Post #1638.

Lloyd J. Boyd Correction

In last week’s obituary of Lloyd Boyd, the names of two surviving daughters were inadvertently omitted. They are Paula Boyd, Wausau, and Laura (John) Osero, Tomahawk. The Foto News apologizes for the omission.
