Lavern J. Teske, 80, of the town of Hamburg, died Thursday, February 17, 2005, at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehab in Wausau.

Born in the town of Berlin on December 31, 1924, Lavern was the son of the late Robert and Irene Kufahl Teske. He married Arlene Oelke on September 8, 1945, in Trinity Lutheran Church, town of Stettin. She survives.

Laver was a dairy farmer in the town of Hamburg until his retirement. He was a member of the Marlin VFW Post 10203 in the town of Hamburg. During World War II, Lavern served in the European Theater with the U. S. Army. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in the town of Berlin.

Surviving are his wife Arlene, town of Hamburg; daughter Joy (Rod) Haehlke, town of Berlin; son Randal, town of Hamburg; grandchildren Andrew Porath, Cynthiana, Ind.; Nathan (Alicia) Porath; Wausau; Wendy Teske, Merrill; two step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Florence Rehwinkel, Merrill; and Irene (Wilfred) Lueck, Wauwatosa; and brothers Orval (Marge), Merrill; and Rev. Melvin (Florence), Yakima, Wash. He was preceded in death by brothers Robert, Leroy and James.

Funeral services were Tuesday, February 22, at Trinity Lutheran Church WELS, town of Berlin. Burial was in Trinity Ev. Lutheran Cemetery, town of Berlin, with fill military honors provided by Marlin VFW Post 10203, Hamburg. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, served the family.
