Dale Theilman, 74, of Wausau, died Saturday, February 19, 2005, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Dale was born May 4, 1930, in Polar to the late Fred Sr. and Mamie Stickney Thielman. He married Velma Cvengros on August 3, 1971, in Phillips.

Dale served in the Army during the Korean War. During his life, he had operated a diner, worked as a machinist, sawyer, furniture maker and drove a semi. He loved woodworking, steam engine shows, exploring out of the way places, hunting, fishing, camping, spending time with his grandchildren and family picnics.

Survivors include his wife Velma; daughter Debra (Mike) Chernohorsky, Hartland; sons Michael (Swevetlana), Sault Ste. Marie, Canada; and Robert (Char) Theilman, Fontana, Calif.; stepson James (Vanise) Gregor, Tomahawk; step daughter Laura Gregor, Merrill; and 12 grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Gertrude Schmitt, Rhinelander; and Dorothy Breitenfeldt, Antigo. He was preceded in death by grandson Luke, seven brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 24, at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Rev. Timothy Greenwald will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the hour of services at the funeral home.
