Joseph Lloyd Dorgan, 79, of Gleason, died Friday, February 25, 2005, at Golden Age Nursing Home, Tomahawk.

Born in Chicago, Ill., on November 17, 1925, Joseph was the son of Patrick and Anna Sleco Dorgan. He married Phyllis Gawlik on November 25, 1945, in Illinois. She survives.

Joseph was a machinist for 35 years at Danley Machine Corporation in Cicero, Ill. He dairy farmed in the town of Russell for a number of years and retired from Semling-Menke in 1991. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Brookfield, Ill. Joe was a member of the National Cushman Motor Scooter Club for many years. He served in the Army in Occupied Japan after World War II. He enjoyed nature, making people happy and his Cub tractors.

Surviving are his wife Phyllis, Merrill; daughter Mary Jo (Stanley) Gustin; Becker, Minn.; sons Tom, Rio Disos, N. M.; Mick (Linda), Gleason; and Joe (Patty), Merrill; grandchildren Nicole, Ivan, Jeremy, Jared, Abby, Anne, Kelli and K. C.; step-grandchildren James and Joseph; and great-grandchildren Chelsey, Taylor and Danny. Also surviving are brothers Robert (Anna) Oak Park, Ill.; Eugene, Berwyn, Ill.; and brothers-in-law Glen Gawlik, Gleason; and Rod Gawlik, Joliet, Ill. He was preceded in death by a brother and 10 sisters.

Private family services will be held at a later date. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, was in charge of arrangements.
