Ronald K. Kolka, 70, of N4916 Pier St., Irma, town of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, February 23, 2005, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Ron was born December 13, 1934, in Newtown, Iowa, son of the late John and Helen Warner Kolka. He married JoAnne Bondioli on September 11, 1954, at the former Bethany Church in the town of Birch.

Ron was a member of the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Irma. He had been a sales representative for Marigold Foods, Eau Claire. Ron enjoyed deer hunting, gardening, working in the woods, and fishing. Ron was a local historian and had several articles published in local newspapers. He was also a former ball player of the “Merrill Giants”, and a little league coach.

Survivors besides his wife JoAnne include sons Rocky Lee (Laura), Sheboygan; and Randall Karl (Susan), Grand Rapids, Minn.; and grandchildren Ashley, Emily, Ryan and Benjamin. Also surviving are sisters Julie (Ron) Koranda, Delhi, Iowa; and Sue Newlin, Illinois; and brothers Jack (Audrey), Ryan, Iowa; and Justus (Jan), Anaheim, Calif.

Funeral services were Saturday, February 26, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Irma. Rev. Hans Heisinger officiated. Burial was in Bethany Cemetery, town of Birch. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, associated the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund.
