Howard B. Cottrell

Howard B. Cottrell, 71, of 1010 Washington Avenue, Tomahawk, died Sunday in St. Joseph's hospital, Marshfield. He had been ailing for the last 15 months.

Mr. Cottrell was a retired farmer. He was born Oct. 29, 1902 in Dudley to Alson and May Cottrell and was married to Lillian Michelson Sept. 19, 1928 in Irma. The couple moved here from Irma three months ago.

He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Irma, and a former financial secretary of the church. He was a former town board member, a former cemetery board member and a former Irma State graded school board member.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Carol Peterson, Brantwood; two sons, Victor and Gene Cottrell, route one, Irma; a brother, Earl, route one, Irma; six sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Eastham, Mrs. Eva Thomas, and Mrs. Bessie Hutchins, San Jacinto, Calif., Mrs., Mildred Gregory, Cadott, Mrs. Jessie Nicklaus, Irma, and Mrs., Nina Horgan, Ashfield, Ky.; and 13 grand-children and one great- grandchild.

Services were yesterday (Wednesday) at 1:30 p.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church, Irma, with the Rev. Edmund Kot officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Taylor funeral home, Merrill, was in charge.
