---Cottrell, Alson Wood (10 Dec. 1869 - 22 Jul 1945)

Funeral Services for Alson Wood Cottrell, 75, who died Sunday afternoon at his home in San Jacinto, were held this morning at 10 o'clock in the Harford Funeral home, Rev. Howard W. Moore of Goleta, former pastor of the San Jacinto Union Church, conducting the rites. He was assisted by the Rev. Ted Goodwin, the present pastor. Vocal selections were by Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Buckley with burial in the Valley cemetery.

Pallbearers were George Mathew, Lynn Elliot, Albert Carlson, Menzo Cummins, Tom Handcock and C. A. Moyer. Mr. Cottrell, a resident of San Jacinto since 1929, was a native of Wisconsin born at Poy Sippi on December 10, 1869.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rosina Cottrell and eight children: Mrs. Ben Thomas, Mrs. Charles Hutchinhs, and Mrs. Kirk Riley fo San Jacinto; Howard and Earl Cottrell and Mrs. Elmer Nicklaus of Irma, Wis. Mrs. Mildred Gregory of Chippewa Falls, Wis., and Mrs. Edmar Hargen of Madison, Wis. He also leaves a step daughter, Mrs. Hazel Creswell of San Jacinto. Thirty-one grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive him. Among the grandchildren are Helen and Esther Bartman, Hazel and Lorraine Cottrell of San Jacinto. He leaves three brothers in Wisconsin and Michigan and a sister in New??
