Richard E. “Dick” and Darlene J. Plautz, Merrill, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 11, 2005. They were married at the new First Methodist Church in Rhinelander with Rev. W. H. Wiese, DD, officiating at the 4 p.m. ceremony. Maid of honor was sister of the groom Marion (Plautz) Cossar. Best man was brother of the bride, Ron Schreiber. Two other attendants, two groomsmen, a ring bearer and a flower girl completed the wedding party.

Dick and Darlene are blessed with three children and five grandchildren. Rick Plautz, Rachael and Ramsay; Ranee (Michael) Kopetzky and Amanda; Ryan (Cheryl) Plautz, Ashley Koch and Andrew Plautz.

Parents of the couple are the late Victor P. and Ruth Batchelder Schreiber of Rhinelander and the late Henry and Louise Savaske Plautz of Merrill.
