Lenhard M. Leih, 75, of 204 E. Tenth St., Merrill, died Friday, May 27, 2005, at his home, under the care of his wife and family, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Lenard was born May 7, 1930, in South Dakota, son of the late George and Hela Schulz Leih. He married Johanna Graap on August 5, 1950, in Merrill. She survives.

Lenhard was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wausau. Lenhard enjoyed spending time with his wife and he always made time for the rest of his family. He also enjoyed many hobbies.

Survivors besides his wife Johanna Leih, Merrill, include daughters Sharon (John) Woller, Lynn (Mark) Roeder and Pamela (Randy) Gilson, all of Merrill; sons Merlyn “Merf” (Jean) and Steven (Gina), both of Merrill; grandchildren Malibu, Richard, Jeremy, Keith, Philip, Jennifer, Eric, Tim, Mike and Heidi; great-grandchildren Spencer, Keia, Kaytlin, Nathan, Austin, Ariana, Paige and Mercedes; and brother Gerald, Merrill. He was preceded in death by sisters Gertrude Leih and Helen Liemke.

Funeral services were Wednesday, June 1, at the Taylor and Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Sarah Nehring officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park.
