Bernice Mae Pester, 74, of Merrill, died Wednesday, October 12, 2005, at Bell Tower Residence, under Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice and the Bell Tower Staff.

Born December 9, 1930, in Merrill, Bernice was the son of the late Walter and Esther Hoff Raasch. She married William Pester in Merrill on June 14, 1952. He passed away on July 25, 2005.

Bernice graduated from Merrill High School in 1949. She had worked in the office of Weinbrenner Shoe Company, Bondshire Credit Union in Merrill, and Park City Credit Union in Merrill. Bernice enjoyed crocheting, working crossword and jig saw puzzles, reading, traveling, and especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where she was a former member of the Ladies Aid, Altar Guild and bookkeeper.

Surviving are her daughters Charlene (Steve) Anderson, Ely; Iowa; and Sherry (Dan) Wayda, Schofield; sons Bryan (Susan), Wausau; and Mark (Pam) and Todd, both of Merrill; grandchildren Chad (Leah) Pester, Matthew Pester, Jeremy (Melissa) Anderson, Nicholas Anderson, Mitchell Peters, Bobbi Pester, Adam Johnson, Kyle Delacruz, Rebecca (Brian) Zoromski, Dennis (Dawn) Wayda and Mollie Pester; great-grandchildren Kylie Anderson, Devin Zoromski and Alexander Wayda; and sister Ruth Baguhn, Merrill. She was preceded in death by her husband William.

Funeral services were Saturday, October 15, at Faith Lutheran Church, town of Maine. Rev. Steven Anderson officiated. Burial was in Scott Cemetery, town of Scott. The Waid Fuenral Home, Merrill, was in charge of arrangements.
