---Frazier, Mildred M. (22 Feb. 1914 – 10 Oct. 2005)

Mildred M. Abel Frazier, 91, was called home Monday, October 10, 2005.

Mildred was born on February 22, 1914, in Merrill, to the late William and Emma Voight Abel. She graduated from Merrill High School and attended Merrill Normal School. Mildred worked for the Merrill Candy Company until her marriage to Harry O. Frazier on December 6, 1947. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1989.

Mildred was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill, where she was involved in the Ladies Aid and the Altar Guild. Mildred worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Company until her retirement.

Mildred was the proud mother of sons Kermit (Sandy), Superior; and Larry (Debbie), Green Bay; and the loving grandmother of Kristina, Elizabeth, Brent and Meghan. She was never happier than when she was surrounded by her family. Mildred is further survived by her sisters’ children; her “third son,” Gerald (Doris) Schield, and their children Gregory (Susan) Schield, Kathy (Huey) Wood, and Kirk (Beth) Schield; Allan (Jane) Schield; Richard (Ruth) Schield and Laura; and many Frazier nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters.

Mildred’s confirmation verse was: “Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life.” John 6:68. It is a great comfort to know that Mildred is where she wants to be with the Lord Jesus whom she deeply loved.

Funeral services were Saturday, October 15, at St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill. Rev. Kelly Leary officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park. The Taylor and Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, assisted the family.

Mildred’s family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care she received from Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice and the staff at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
