---Jaeger, Marvin P. “Butch” (17 Sept. 1919 – 8 Nov. 2005)

Marvin P. “Butch” Jaeger was born September 17, 1919, in the town of Texas to the late Albert and Selma Kufahl Jaeger. He died at his home in the town of Berlin on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, under the care of his family and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He married Yvonne Schweigert Utecht on November 28, 1980, in Antigo. She passed away on April 14, 1998, leaving a void in Butch’s life. Yvonne brought him much love, joy and outdoor companionship. Together they fished, hunted, and had a large vegetable garden. They shared the fruits of their labor with family and friends. They also admired, from their home, a variety of birds and wildlife, while keeping them well fed. Butch was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill, and was employed at Wausau Paper in Brokaw for 35 years.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Gary Voigt, Merrill; granddaughters Amber Voigt, Green Bay; and Ashley Voigt, Merrill; sisters Carmine Tigwell, St. Paul, Minn.; Leora (Arnold) Wetzel, Wells, Minn.; Elmyra McAnnich, St. Paul, Minn.; and Marion (Carl) Leiskau, Iola; brothers Milton (Karen), Shawano; and Gordon and Delmar (Marcella), both of Merrill; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters Dorena Dittmar and Ruth Lemke and brothers Karl, Nyal, Wilbert, and Albert.

A private family celebration of Butch’s life will be held at a later date at his home. The Taylor and Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is serving the family. The family would like to thank the staff of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, Dr. Abrego, and the nurses at the Surgery Center of Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill, for their care and support. Their thanks also go to Chaplain Stephen Russell and Rev. Gary Bartz for their prayers and comforting words prior to Butch’s death.
