---Wengeler, Ruth E. (22 Jan. 1944 – 1 Sept. 2003)

Ruth E. Wengeler, 59, of 1412 E. Tenth St., Merrill, died Monday, September 1, 2003, at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.

Ruth was born January 22, 1944, in Merrill, daughter of Lillian Hagedorn Wengeler, and the late Eugene Wengeler. Ruth had been employed at Church Mutual Insurance Company in Merrill since October 1, 1964 and was currently a property claims examiner. Ruth was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, Merrill. She enjoyed cross stitching, country music and her pet cats.

Survivors include her mother Lillian, Merrill; sisters Naomi (Harvey) Berg, Merrill; and Geraldine (Jon) Robinson, LaValle; nice Pam Berg, Merrill; nephew Harvey (Pam) Berg, Jr., Arkansas; and great niece and nephew Aubrey and Tyler, both of Merrill.

Funeral services were Friday, September 5, at St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, Merrill. Rev. Earl Eckhart officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park. The Taylor and Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, was in charge of the arrangements. The family has requested memorials to either the Lincoln County Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
