Roger W. Krause, 71, of N526 Corning Rd., town of Scott, died Friday, October 22, 2004, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Roger was born May 18, 1933, in Lincoln County, son of the late Albert and Alice Weber Krause. He married Carol Kunkel on March 2, 1957, in Merrill. She survives.

Roger served with the United States Marines from 1954 to 1956, and was stationed in Hawaii. He was co-owner/carpet installer for Krause Carpets in Merrill. Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his tractor, gardening, and taking care of his horses and other pets.

Survivors include his wife, Carol, sons Steven, town of Scott, and Warren (Jeanette), Merrill; four grandchildren, Tim, Katie, Brandon and Samantha, all of Merrill; three sisters, Alice Faye (Maurice “Rudy”) Tewes, Merrill; Judy (Jerry) Schmidt, Tomahawk; and Lois (Don) Wold; Merrill; and brother Albert L. (Joan) Krause, Wausau. Roger was preceded in death by his brother Warren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 27, at the Taylor & Stine funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. Alden J. Beversdorf will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
