David H. Eckerle, 45, of N2915 Cty. E, Merrill, town of Harding, died Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

David was born April 18, 1959, in Merrill, son of Donna Mae Ruprecht Eckerle, Merrill, and the late Charles E. Eckerle. He married Marsha Lemmer on July 15, 1989, she survives.

David was currently employed at Wisconsin Public Service in Merrill. He was a member of the Silver M Club in Merrill and Whitetails Unlimited. David enjoyed restoring antique automobiles. He was an exceptional handyman who built his home in the town of Harding, and he could repair almost anything.

Survivors besides his wife and mother include his daughter Melissa; sons David and Jon; sisters Kathy Badeau, and Connie (Brent) Scantlin, both of Merrill; and brother Jeff (Marilyn Osborn), Los Angeles, Calif. He was preceded in death by brother Mark in 1967.

Funeral services were Monday, December 13, at St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, Merrill. Rev. Earl Eckhart officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park. The Taylor and Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, served the family. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be directed to the UW Cancer Center, Wausau; or the Lincoln County Humane Society.
