Irene M. Vannoy, 94, of Rhinelander, died Saturday, December 18, 2004, at her home.

Born December 24, 1909, in Hartland Township near Shawano, Irene was the daughter of Theodore and Louisa Petermann Toellner. She married her first husband Leslie Boettcher on September 12, 1931. Irene was proud to have been a foster parent for many years as well. She was a member of the Ladies’ Aid at Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill and the Sixth War Circle. She received great joy in volunteering at both the senior center and the logging museum in Rhinelander.

Irene is survived by her daughters Carol (Jack) Kleinschmidt, Merrill; and Patsy (Mike) Curtis, Rhinelander; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her second husband Frank on June 27, 1986, son Leslie Boettcher, and great-grandson Cory Waldburger, on January 4, 1996.
