Flora Donner, 98, of Altoona, died Thursday, December 23, 2004, at Oakwood Nursing Home in Altoona.

Flora was born in the Town of Pine River on June 8, 1906, the daughter of Ernest and Emilie Harley Young. She married Reuben M. Donner on June 24, 1939, in Merrill.

Flora was an elementary school teacher in Park Falls from 1950 until she retired in 1972. After retirement she continued to reside in Park Falls and at a cabin near Drummond during the summer, going to Harlingen, Texas, for the winters. She moved to Eau Claire in September 2001, living at the St. Francis Apartments for two years, and then at Oak Gardens Assisted living in Altoona.

Surviving is her son John and daughter-in-law Jayne Donner, Chippewa Falls, granddaughter Linda Dooner, Eagle River; sister Norma Lamprech, Honolulu, Hawaii; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death her husband Rueben in July of this year, her parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services were Tuesday, December 28, at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Keith Aurand officiated. Burial was in the Merrill Memorial Park.
