Sylvia A. Sturm

Sylvia A. Sturm, 85, 2400 Marshall St., Wausau, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at Mount View Care Center, Wausau.

Sylvia was born March 16, 1919, in the town of Corning, Lincoln County, daughter of the late John and Anna (Koehler) Krause. She married Wilbert C. Sturm on June 18, 1938, in Merrill. He preceded her in death in 1968. Sylvia had been a homemaker and, along with her late husband, owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Maine. After his death, Sylvia worked as a home care provider with the Lincoln County Department of Social Services, and also was employed at the former Eddie's Bake Shop in Merrill. Sylvia enjoyed attending dances. She also enjoyed entertaining and visiting with friends in her home. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Beverly Sturm, Merrill; two grandchildren, Debra Heise, Wausau, and Jeffrey (Sara) Sturm, Schofield; three great-grandchildren, Emma Sturm, Kenneth Heise and Jared Sturm; two sisters, Lavila (Elroy) Schmidt, Merrill, and Phyllis (LaVern) Kottke, Athens; and three brothers, Lorenz (Lavine) Krause, Edgar (Emogene) Krause and Gilbert (Phyllis) Krause, all of Merrill. Sylvia was preceded in death by her son, Gerald Sturm, in April 2003.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at Faith Lutheran Church, town of Maine. The Rev. Donald C. Schulz will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, town of Maine. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Taylor and Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and starting at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
