Raymond C. 'Charlie' Martinsen

Raymond C. "Charlie" Martinsen, 71, Wausau, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was born June 29, 1935, in Merrill, son of the late Edward M. and Margaret (Roberts) Martinsen. He married Harriet Thompson in 1956 at St. Francis Xavior Catholic Church in Merrill.

Raymond served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 10 in Wausau. Raymond was a co-owner of M&S - The Siding Specialists until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Harriet; son, Michael (Michele) Martinsen, Madison; sisters-in-law, Alice Janisch, Wausau, and Evelyn Thompson, Merrill; and other relatives. He will be missed by many special friends.

A public visitation will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams St., Wausau. Following the visitation the family will hold a private family memorial service for Raymond.
