Bernard J. Ziebell


Bernard J. Ziebell, 96, of Merrill, died Saturday, June 17, 2006, at Bell Tower Residence under Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.

Born March 20, 1910, in Merrill, Bernard was the son of the late August and Anna Heisewandt Ziebell. He married Jeanette Schielke-Patefield in Merrill on June 30, 1934. She preceded him in death on Aug. 9, 1992.

Ben worked at Anson-Gilkey, the city of Merrill, and Ward Paper Mill for 27 years. He enjoyed gardening and especially fishing with his wife.

Survivors include his sisters-in-law Alvera (Clifford) Lupton, Merrill; Ethel (Wally) Maas, Edgar; Lois (Ralph) Rice, Waupaca; and Marlene (James) Borelli, Tomahawk; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanette, three sisters and four brothers.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, June 23, at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill. Rev. Martin Pablo, O. S. M., CAP, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Merrill. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to the hour of services at Bell Tower Residence. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, is in charge of arrangements.
