Frederick Becker

Frederick H. Becker, 79, formerly of Irma, died Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill.

While serving in the Army during World War II, he was a driver for General Patton and the Radio City Rockettes. He worked as a mason for Megel Construction and for Keileber Construction in southern Wisconsin, retiring in 1979.

Survivors include one daughter, Lynn (David) Tordsen, Irma; two sons, David (Joan) Becker, Germantown, and Frederick (Kelli Dinges) Becker Jr., Merrill; three brothers, Kenneth Becker, Random Lake, Chester (Delores) Becker, Sussex, and Daniel (Darlene) Becker, Waukesha; four sisters, Marion (Robert) Petrach, Trophy Club, Texas, Lucille (William) Butzin, Amherst, Gladys (Lowell) Holtz, Reeseville, and Florence Baertlein, Winona, Minn.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Krueger & Sons Funeral Home in Tomahawk. Burial with military rites will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in the town of Skanawan. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, and again from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday, at the funeral home.
