Stanley A. R. Wilke, 70, of Merrill died Saturday, June 3, 2006, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at his residence.

He was born June 15, 1926, in the town of Scott, son of the late Henry and Bertha (Barz) Wilke. He married Arlene Tesch on Aug. 20, 1949, in the town of Maine. She survives.

Stanley was a dairy farmer all of his life until retiring in 1994. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in the town of Maine where he had served as a deacon. Stanley enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, listening to polka music, reading and was great admirer of Frank Lloyd Wright. Stanley studied architectural design at Northcentral Technical College.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene Wilke, Merrill; one son, Brian (Mary) Wilke, Merrill; two daughters, Deborah (Wally) Leuenberger and Devon (Brian) Kleinschmidt, all of Merrill; one sister, Elaine (Don) Kay; Downey, Calif.; three grandchildren, Seth, Caila and Nicole Wilke, all of Merrill; one great-granddaughter, Skylie Wilke of Merrill; one nephew, Terry Kay, Montana; and one special niece, Cheryll (Carl) Olson; Cerritos, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, with Rev. Steven Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery, town of Scott. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family requests memorial be given to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services or the charity of your choice.
