Robert ‘Bob’ Faust

Robert ‘Bob’ Faust, age 59, of Merrill, died Tuesday, October 18, 2005, at his residence with family at his side after a long battle with cancer. He was born December 21, 1945 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the son of deceased George Faust and deceased Margaret (Kezertee).

Bob married Carol (Gerdes) on August 3, 1990 in Merrill, WI. She survives.

While living in Oshkosh, Bob worked in the lumber hardware business at Lieber Lumber, Noffke Lumber, Grosman Lumber. He also worked at the Fountain Tavern. While living in Stevens Point, Bob worked at the Point Bowl, Hot Fish Shop, Preway and WYTE. In Merrill, Bob had worked at ITC Trucking as a detailer. His most recent job was at ACE Hardware.

Bob attended grade school at St. Peters in Oshkosh, WI. In 1964 he graduated from Lourdes Academy in Oshkosh. He went on to attend UW-Stevens, Point from 1975-1978, earning a degree in Political Science. He also went to Midstate Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids from 1986-1987 earning an Associates Degree in Marketing. Bob served in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1967.

Bob passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 18, after a long and courageous battle with cancer with his family at his side. He passed away clean and sober with the Glory of Jesus. Bob enjoyed life to the fullest. His sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew him. Many of the young people will remember Bob from his insightful talks to the science classes at Merrill Senior High on drug and alcohol abuse He was an avid sports fan, especially the Green Bay Packers and Nascar (Dale Earnhardt). He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also did volunteer work for Relay for Life.

The family would like to thank the Aspirus Hospice Comfort Care staff for all of their care during Bob's illness.

Survivors include his wife: Carol of Merrill, 3 Daughters: Lisa (Chad) Sanders of Lebanon, OH, Michelle (Buddy) Karpinski of Rudolph, WI, Tammy (Brian) Amelse of Merrill, WI; 4 Sons: Dan (Renee) Faust of Stevens Point, WI, Rob (Tori) Faust of Oshkosh, WI, Joe Waldburger of Madison, WI, Bob Waldburger of Beaver Dam, WI; 2 Sisters: Mary (Mark) Kirsch of Oshkosh, WI and Judy (Mike) Wickman of Appleton, WI; 18 Grandchildren: Zachary, Kyle, Cooper, Tyler, Caitlin, Brittany, Alex, Kelsey, Brandon, Amanda, Jonathan, Linsey, Nicholas, Christopher, Gabrielle, Sophia, Ashton and Juston.

He is also survived by many family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Memorial services will be Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 7 p.m. at the Waid Funeral Home in Merrill. Visitation will be Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Waid Funeral Home.
