Georgia L. Sorensen

 

Georgia L. Sorensen, age 56, of 126 S. Second St., Tomahawk, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk.

Georgia was born March 1, 1947, in Menomonie to Lawrence and the late Marjorie Sorensen. She was a 1965 graduate of Menomonie High School. After graduating from UW-Eau Claire in 1970, she moved to Tomahawk where she taught music to various grade levels at the Tomahawk School District for the last 33 years.

She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk where she was a former music director. She was involved with the Northern Lights Playhouse in Hazelhurst.

Survivors include her father, Lawrence (Erna) Sorensen of Menomonie; two brothers, Gary (Ann) Sorensen of Knapp and Rick (Sandy) Sorensen of Mondovi; one sister, Jacqie Vranak of Kenosha; seven nieces and nephews; and five great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie, in 1980. Vranak

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk with the Rev. Donald Cannady officiating. A graveside service will be held on Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, at Riverview Cemetery in Downsville. Krueger & Sons Funeral Home of Tomahawk assisted the family with arrangements.
