Edwin A. Bahlow, 69, of Merrill, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. Ed was born Feb. 26, 1933, in the Town of Scott, Lincoln County, son of Benjamin and Theresia (Volz) Bahlow. He married Dorothy A. Kienbaum on Aug. 23, 1958, in St. Stephens United Church of Christ, Merrill. She survives. Ed was employed with the J. & J. Lee Construction Co. of Merrill, and was a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local No. 6.

Ed was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill, and he enjoyed ushering. Ed also enjoyed walking at Council Grounds State Park, being outdoors, reading and the company of his four grandchildren.

He served in the U. S. Army from March 1953 until his honorable discharge in February 1955, and has been stationed in Korea with A Battery 15th Field Artillery Battalion.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Bahlow, Merrill; one daughter, Barb (Phil) Borchardt, Merrill; one son, Mark (Sandy Kufahl) Bahlow, Merrill; four grandchildren, Blake and Marissa Borchardt, and Matthew and Erin Bahlow; and one brother, Walter (Martha) Bahlow, Merrill. Edwin was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Bahlow; and one sister, Dorothy Bahlow.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. Pastor David Klemm will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Cemetery in the Town of Corning. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Taylor and Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and at the church on Wednesday starting at 9 a.m. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
