Debra K. Bartelt, 40, of Merrill, died Thursday, October 25, 2001 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Tomahawk.

Born January 1, 1961 in Marshfield, Debra was the daughter of Warren and Ceil (Schreiner) Bartelt. She was married to Glen Manthei on January 5, 1980 in Merrill. They later divorced.

Debra was a registered nurse at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill. She enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing the organ and spending time with her family. Debra was especially looking forward to becoming a grandmother, with the upcoming birth of daughter Jamie’s baby.

Surviving are daughters; Jamie Manthei, Wausau; and Kristen Manthei, Merrill; parents Warren and Ceil Bartelt, Merrill; sisters Tammy (Clark) Bushmeyer, Lander, Wyo.; and Sara (Jeff Chamberlin) Bartelt, Hortonville; brother John Bartelt; Green Bay; finance Gary Anderson, Tomahawk; paternal grandfather Edwin Bartelt, Hamburg; and nephews Lane and Will.

Funeral services were Monday, October 29 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Merrill, Rev. Edward Powell officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Francis Catholic Church Building Fund. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, served the family.

**Note – After Debra’s divorce she took back her maiden name.
