Duane E. Buntrock

He was born Nov. 5, 1937, in Merrill, son of the late Harry and Olga (Oestreich) Buntrock. On Aug. 10, 1991, he married Judith Singer in Wausau. She survives.

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Duane served his country from 1955 until 1959. Duane had been employed at Northern Door in Merrill for more than 28 years and later was employed at Linetec, Wausau. He was a member of the Royal Neighbors and the Schofield Senior Citizens. Among his favorite things to do were hunting and spending time up north at the hunting land.

Survivors include his wife, Judith Buntrock, Schofield; children, Roger (Leasha) Walters, Morgan City, La., and their children, Bethanie Lee, Khristinie (Shane) Campo and Kourtenie; Thomas Walters, Schofield; David Walters, Ansbach, Germany, and his children, Shawn-Colin and Josephine; Jim Buntrock, Schofield, and his children, Zander and Alyvia; two brothers, Vernon (Eileen) Buntrock and Milton (Marion) Buntrock, all of Merrill; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Roger, Harvey and Ralph Buntrock.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2006, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Wausau. The Rev. Sam Royappa will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, town of Scott, Lincoln County. Friends may call Sunday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau, and again Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Comfort Care and Hospice Services or to the charity of your choice.
