---Wendt, Virgil Harold #2 (3 Oct. 1949 - 27 March 2005)

Virgil H. Wendt, age 55, Merrill, died March 27, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Health Center.

Virgil was born October 3, 1949 in Merrill, Wisconsin, to Harold and Rosalie (Kleinschmidt) Wendt. He married Mae Schmidt on September 19, 1970 in the Town of Scott.

Virgil graduated from Merrill High School in 1967. He served in the U. S. Army as an electrician and in electronic communications. Virgil had been employed at Semling-Menke Company. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Merrill. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, cooking, gardening, helping on the farm, and spending time in the woods at the cabin with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Mae Wendt, Merrill; one daughter, Melissa (Thomas) Hardinger, Marshfield; one son, Jesse (Crystal) Wendt, Marietta, Georgia; his father, Harold Wendt, Merrill; two grandchildren, Carissa and Nicholas; one sister, Norma Wendt, Merrill; two brothers, Jack Wendt, Merrill and Glen (Brenda) Wendt, Merrill; and his mother-in-law, Leona Schmidt, Merrill. Virgil was preceded in death by his mother, Rosalie "Rose" Wendt

Services were held on March 31, 2005 at St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill, Wisconsin. Rev. Alden Beversdorf officiated with burial in St. Paul's Cemetery in the Town of Scott. The Waid Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
