Edward G. Jahns Jr., 79, Gleason, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.

Born January 17, 1926, in Winniecone, Edward was the son of Edward and Anna (Achterberg) Jahns Sr. He married Elizabeth Ann Kniess on April 17, 1948, in the town of Hamburg. She survivors.

Ed farmed and logged in the town of Schley. He also worked at Lincoln Wood and Wire Products in Merrill. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to flea markets, gardening and reading.

Surviving are his wife Elizabeth Ann, Gleason; daughters Donna (Philip) Fecteau, Lacey, Wash., Patricia (Dale) Brown, Gleason; and Christine Jahns, Lacey, Wash.; grandchildren James (Cheryl) Fecteau, Redmond, Wash.; Jamie Grund, Irma; Jennifer (Matt) Lee, Gleason; and Stephanie Arseneau, Gleason; and great-grandchildren Christian and Kallie. Also surviving are his sister Arlette Gruetzmacher, Merrill; and half-brother Oscar (Janet) Reudinger, Orangeville, Ill. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sherry Jahns, granddaughter Michelle Lynn Brown, a half-sister and several half-brothers.

Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, Rev. Robert Smallman officiated.
