Sept. 19, 1998 --- Kasten, Leona A. (17 Sept. 1906 – 17 Sept. 1998) Leona A. Kasten, 92, Merrill died Monday Sept. 17, 1998, in Comfort Care and Hospice Services at her home. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her daughter, Carol (Kurth) Wendt, Merrill; four grandsons; three great-great-grandsons; and a sister-in-law, Stella Bonke, Merrill. Services will be at 10 a. m. Monday at Waid Chapel, Merrill. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Town of Scott. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, and from 9 a.m. Monday until the time of services, at Waid Funeral Home. **Note – Leona Kasten was the daughter of Herman August & Bertha (Pufahl /Puphal) Bonke. Birth date was taken from the family data base. Burial took place in St. Paul's Public Cemetery, Town of Scott, Lincoln County, Wis.
