David Kleinschmidt

David A. Kleinschmidt, 64, of 1011 Grand Ave., Merrill, died Thursday, June 2, 2005, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

David was born May 28, 1941, in Merrill, son of the late Alvin and Esther Griggel Kleinschmidt, Sr. He married Judith Pophal on August 12, 1967, at Christ United Methodist Church, Merrill. She survives. David was a forklift operator at Lincoln Wood in Merrill until his retirement in 2004. He enjoyed working and riding his bicycle. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors besides his wife Judith, of Merrill, include daughters Theresa (David) Sousek Sr. and Tammy (Thad) Prentice, both of Merrill; son David A. Jr., Merrill; and grandchildren Jennifer, David Jr., Jesse, Jacci, Haley, Ashley and Amber. Also surviving are brothers Donald (Ruth), Gilbert (Rose), Milton (Trudy) and Alvin (Georgia), all of Merrill; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

Funeral services were Tuesday, June 7, at Christ United Methodist Church, Merrill. Rev. Carolyn Saunders officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, assisted with the arrangements.
