Hilda Louise Kleinschmidt

Hilda Louise Kleinschmidt, 87, Merrill, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau.

She was born Oct. 25, 1918, in the town of Corning, daughter of the late Robert and Ella (Schmidt) Wendt. Hilda married Robert Kleinschmidt on Oct. 25, 1941, in the town of Corning. He died on Sept. 12, 1998.

Hilda had farmed with her late husband, Robert, in the town of Scott. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill. She enjoyed working on the farm, gardening, crocheting, knitting, watching baseball ... especially the Brewers, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include one son, DuWayne (Diane) Kleinschmidt, Wausau; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Joel) Chandler and Robert (Jayne) Kleinschmidt, all of Wausau; one great-grandson, Kolby Kleinschmidt, Wausau; one sister, Leila Wegner, Merrill; and three brothers, Harold Wendt, Robert (Luella) Wendt and Kurth (Carol) Wendt, all of Merrill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; one daughter, Sally Kleinschmidt; one sister, Mildred Woller; and three brothers, Alvin, Edward and Arnold Wendt.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill, on the corner of Highway 64 and State Street. The Rev. David Klemm will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, town of Scott. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, and will begin again at 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at the church.
