Final Rites Held For Roy Lewerenz

Funeral services for Roy Lewerenz, 61, a resident of Tomahawk since 1887, were held last Monday afternoon at the First Congregational church with the Rev. W. A. Smith officiating. Mr. Lewerenz died at his home at 21 West Lincoln avenue at 3 a. m. Friday, Nov. 7. He had been in ill health for several years.

Mr. Lewerenz was born in Mauston, Wisconsin, August 29, 1886, and came to Tomahawk while still an infant in 1887. He remained here all his life. He was married in this city on June 9, 1909, to Miss Helene Krause, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters and a son who are Mrs. A. E. (Vida) Schlising, Clarice Lewerenz and Harold, all of Tomahawk, and a sister, Maeta Lewerenz, of Whitewater, Wis. A son, Ellis, was killed last February in an airplane crash a few miles north of the city.

Those from out of the city who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lewerenz and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Lewerenz, of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Carlen Stevens, of Merrill; Miss Maeta Lewerenz, of Whitewater, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Boulder, Gleason.

The pallbearers were James Robinson, William Malitz, Richard McCarthy, Ed. M. MacDonald, Henry Schlising and Harold Selmer.

Burial was in Greenwood cemetery.

We wish to express our deep appreciation and sincere thanks to our many friends and neighbors for their assistance and kind expression of sympathy at the time of our recent bereavement, the death of our beloved husband, father and brother, Mr. Roy B. Lewerenz. We wish to thank the Rev. W. A. Smith, the choir and organist, Dr. R. J. Henderson, the pallbearers, Nick and Sons, those who sent flowers, those who offered the use of their cars and all who assisted in any way at this time.
