Gerald W. Sturm, 62, of Merrill, died Thursday, April 24, 2003 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.

Born in Merrill, March 23, 1941, Gerald was the son of Wilbert and Sylvia (Krause) Sturm. He married Beverly Hahn on September 15, 1952 in Merrill.

Gerald farmed on the town of Maine farmed his father and grandfather had farmed. He also worked 33 years at the Anderson and Johnson Quarry. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, going to steam engine shows, playing cards and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Beverly; daughter Debra Heise, Wausau; son Jeffrey (Sara), Weston, grandchildren, Emma, Kenneth and Jared; and his mother Sylvia Sturm, Wausau. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbert Sturm.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at Faith Lutheran Church, Town of Maine. The Rev. Kenneth Hoogland will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, town of Maine. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 am. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church.
